Our dogs were basically wild animals that would run away most days, I would drive around looking for them, cleaning up the banana peels, paper towels, and the occasional dirty diaper from the shredded garbage bags thrown around...
When I was growing up, “training” meant yelling at our dogs until they cowered in the corner. Sure, they stopped chewing the carpet or diving into the trash while we were home, but the second we left? Mayhem. Almost every dog we had ended up rehomed because we never learned a better way.
Then came Bumblebee, my high energy Australian Shepherd. I didn’t just want a well-behaved dog, I wanted a smart, calm, and confident Dog. I began watching youtube videos, stocked up on the best food, treats, toys, a comfy dog bed and crate, thinking, bribes and confinement would be enough. But he still barked nonstop, had accidents in the house, and one day shredded my dad’s Father’s Day present. That’s when I hit rock bottom.
So I humbly found a coach who had done it before and dug into science backed, positive reinforcement games. Over time, Bumblebee transformed: he comes running when called, settles happily in his bed or crate, and walks politely by my side. Along the way, I discovered how to train him to ride a skateboard, taught deep-pressure therapy and dog meditation, turning panic into play, chaos to connection.
Every so-called “naughty” dog is really just trying to get something good, even if their choices don’t make sense to us. Dogs always have a positive intent behind their behavior, and not all actions are created equal in their minds.
But, did you know the average dog can learn 165 words, puppies and old dogs really can learn new tricks! These 4 levels will show you exactly how to turn any pup—new or old—into the dog of your dreams.
Raising a puppy usually happens in four levels:
1. Happy Starter
2. Frustrated Fixer
3. Careful Coach
4. Dream Team
The sooner you move through these levels, the sooner you both get what you want, freedom.
Happy Starters are full of hope, but sometimes think their puppy will “just get it.” This phase can be messy, with lots of guessing and accidents.
Frustrated Fixers are great at managing chaos with “leave it!” or a stern “chh!” But these are just symptom stoppers, not real solutions.
Dogs Need To Learn What To Do, Not Just What Not To Do.
This Means, When You Get Furious, Get Curious.
The magic happens when you move past frustrated fixer to a careful coach, teaching the skills that build lasting trust and a real-life Dream Team!
Once you are aware of the 4 levels, Secret 2 is the simple science behind dog training:
Dogs learn through patterns, just like us. Scientists call it classical conditioning and operant conditioning, but all that really means is: Dogs connect the dots between what happens first, what comes next, and they continue to do what feels good and they avoid the not-so-good things.
The Science Is Simple And Makes All The Difference.
Master Patterns And Their Meanings And Become Your Dog’s Hero.
For example, you might, teach your dream dog a nose bump because they will learn the faster they run to your hand, the faster they will get their favorite toy, treat, or love language!
It’s a game:
• See your hand.
• Nose bump.
• Get the prize.
I know living with a “naughty” dog can be stressful, confusing, and even embarrassing at moments. The longer a problem goes unchecked, jumping, barking, ignoring you, the more it chips away at your confidence and peace of mind.
And here’s the thing: Stress isn’t just a human problem. When you’re tense or frustrated, your dog feels it, too. And when your home's energy gets out of balance, your dog’s behavior might spiral.
Sure, you could try managing the symptoms, saying “No!” louder, walking them longer, buying more bones or toys, but those are just temporary fixes.
Remember, Every Problem Has Been Solved Before.
Take A Breath, Honor The Moment, And Dance With The Mistakes Because
You Both Will Grow Through What You Go Through.
Truthfully, the fastest way to integrate and celebrate is when play is involved. That is why every training includes chase, tug, and fun and you are the one who rewards behaviors you want repeated. Building a relationship on confidence, communication, and clarity that lasts.

Secret #3: Integrate & Celebrate With Your Dream Dog
I hear you and what I want you to understand is that the majority of the dog trainers available to you now are treating the symptoms, while neglecting the root cause. What if you didn’t have to feel at the mercy of your dog’s mischief? What if there is a map that guides you to success and you both actually enjoy the process.
That’s why I created the Dream Dog Blueprint Bundle. It’s not just about stopping unwanted behavior, it’s about teaching your dog and you how to be calm, connected, and solve problems together. Because when you remember to take a breath and make intentional choices you teach your dog to do the same. Training becomes a dance and a relationship built on confidence, communication, and clarity that lasts.
So yes, you really will take back control. Not by being an alpha, but by being an inspiring leader that creates a solid foundation where learning sticks and you both get your freedom again.
Honestly, I’ve been in your shoes: confused, a little overwhelmed, and just wanting a dog that listens. But after learning, living, and teaching the D.R.E.A.M. Dog transformation, everything changed for me and for many other dog owners who thought they had tried everything.
